All of the Evangelicals for Mitt crew are out to dinner except me, so I’m tempted to post about my two favorite television shows, Battlestar Galactica and 24–knowing Charles will not gleefully get back to his “edit” button for several more hours.
Instead, I’ll just link to U.S. News & World Report’s Washington Whispers, which speculates that Jeb Bush would be the perfect vice presidential candidate for several leading ’08 contenders, including Gov. Romney.
While I know Jeb Bush (who’s Catholic) is popular in crucial Florida, I think it’d make sense for Gov. Romney to choose an evangelical. And, since I’m not getting invited to dinner, I happen to have a little time on my hands and might consider a nomination. (I couldn’t deliver a swing state like Florida to Gov. Romney, but I could practically guarantee I could carry my hometown of Paris, Tennessee with little or no effort.)
See? It all fits together. Gov. Romney went to France, I grew up in a town called Paris. He speaks French, my last name is “French. ” (Well, perhaps we could downplay that.)
Just a thought, while I sit here eating leftovers. Gov. Romney, if you read this post before Charles deletes it, please have your people call mine. We’ll do lunch–and not invite the others.
CHARLES adds: Nancy, you’re pretty funny. Your post can stay. Romney-French ’08! (But…what is this “television” of which you speak?)
