I smiled when I saw this local coverage of the final hours of the campaign for Governor in Massachusetts. When asked why Gov. Romney hasn’t had a more prominent role promoting Lt. Gov. Healey, she said, “Gov. Romney has a lot of responsibilities. He’s done everything I’ve asked him during the course of the campaign.”
Then, this quote from the Man himself:
“I’ve been involved every bit as much as they’d like me to be, but of course the pundits and the polls say this is time for the lieutenant governor to be standing in front because she’s going to be governor going forward, and ‘Mitt, You’re going to be retired.’ So I’m in the background.
Is retired a fancy new word for “running the whole nation?” I’ll need to check the Latin origins of that one.
