“The New American Dream,” an Excerpt from National Call Day speech:
“I am real concerned about the America that my grandkids and your grandkids will inherit. Will we be known as one of the great generations–or not? And that depends on the decisions which we make as a nation. I want to see a new American Dream. When I was growing up my parents talked about the American Dream meaning a home in the suburbs. That doesn’t cut it anymore. For me the new American dream that we have to build is a dream with strong families, great schools, health care people know that they can afford and will be with them throughout their life. A safe and prosperous nation in which to earn their livelihood. A new American dream is what are going to have to build together.”
