The EFM Feature

This just in, from McCain’s headquarters:

U.S. Senator John McCain’s campaign today announced that the Arizona Senator will announce his candidacy for President of the United States on April 25th in New Hampshire.

In other words, he’s announcing his intenion to announce. The first thing that entered my mind is “You mean he hasn’t already?” Remember on Letterman when he announced his ’08 aspirations, only to say that he’d do it officially later? McCain reminds me of the Piggly WIggly down the street from my house. It’s been open for about six months, and I noticed a huge “Grand Opening” sign hanging from it a couple of weeks ago. Or, he’s like the Oriential Rug stores that are perpetually “going out of business.” (Is it just me, or is every Oriental Rug place advertising their Going Out of Business Sale about 7 months in advance?)
Apparently, the Senator hasn’t heard the phrase, “fish or cut bait”… or other less polite derivations of the same sentiment.
