I admit, I might bee too sensitive, but this quote from Obama sounded a little condescending:
“My job as commander-in-chief is to keep the American people safe,” he declared. “I’ve got a 9-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old daughter. Don’t think that I care any less than Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney about making sure that my daughters don’t get blown up.
“I live in Chicago – it’s a much more likely target than Grundy County for the next terrorist attack,” he added. “So I take this deadly serious.”
It just reminded me of the mentality many politicians have — that if you aren’t in a major urban area, it’s just the area of the country you fly over to get to the important parts. (I heard a neat anecdote from Greg in Arizona, that the New York/California blue areas of the country are more like parentheses to what’s really happening in America.)
