The EFM Feature

Nancy, I appreciate you linking to Mona Charen’s article about Palin, but I have to say that the very first paragraph drove me nuts. It says:

By telling Barbara Walters that she thinks she can defeat President Obama, Sarah Palin has dimmed hopes cherished by sensible Republicans that she might decide against a run for the White House in 2012. Here are just some of the reasons she should not run.

“Sensible Republicans”? That kind of language is (a) condescending; (b) wrong; and (c) ridiculously divisive. I know quite a few “sensible Republicans” who support Sarah Palin, and I can think of no better way to destroy our chances to take the White House by classifying one set of Republicans as sensible and another set as what? Irrational?
I’ll make the case for Mitt over Sarah, but never like that.
