From today’s Harrisburg, Pa. Patriot-News, regarding Sen. Santorum:

One prominent Pennsylvania Republican, who has remained neutral in the party’s presidential contest, said the Romney campaign “thinks they have to crush him like a bug in Pennsylvania.”

Remember, the race is currently within the margin of error here in Sen. Santorum’s home state.

Also interesting:

The day before he and Santorum appeared in East Pennsboro Twp. for the annual gathering of conservative activists at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, Gingrich met secretly with Romney to “discuss the way forward,” according to Romney.

I have to admit that I was taken back a little by the fact that Gingrich “met secretly” with Romney to “discuss the way forward”. Could it be, that Gingrich has seen the light and is now ready to help solidify and unify the Party? In wanting to beat Obama? If this is true, then Gingrich is a bigger man than I had anticipated. And is welcomed on every front and side. My opinion will change about Newt, most likely, when more light and knowledge come forward. I just hope Santorum will put the Nation, the Party and the People first………..

From what I read several days ago, Romney told a reporter that it was more of a “how’ya doing” type of meeting. Mitt said that he and Ann are good friends of Newt and his wife. Mitt claims that nothing of real importance was discussed. Newt does, however, seem much more willing to support Mitt when the time comes than does Santorum. But I still think that both will stay in the race until Mitt gets the magic 1,144.
